Dear Roxy:

Dang it, woman, where were you?? Q’s was just a madhouse last night! Here’s a recap:

I gets in at a nice time, around ten-ish. The floor was fairly empty at the time but the people were steadily comin’ in thru the door. I stopped over by the bar to show love to Solitude (John) and his ladylove, er, Lady ’Llyn. We politicked about Friday’s run in The Area and how he was gonna attack tonight’s crowd, which was about to be in a few minutes. I figured I’d better get on the floor and do my thing in case real estate (floor space) becomes scarce. I found a nice open spot next to this small petite pretty who was just killin’ on the songs. Soon I was joined by the likes of Mr. Spiel (Josh), his grrl Mz Jaimee and Sir Mike, and we all got lost in a Ron set. Roxy, if I didn’t know any better I’d swear Josh was out to really put a hurtin’ on that floor! He was up on almost every cut I was on...I LOVED it! I was feedin’ off his energy to the point of overdose!

Then John takes his spot at the podium (DJ stage) and proceeds to get ill on the 1-2’s (CD players). He opened up with one of my fave SureFires (songs that are guaranteed to get crowds movin’) the "Chrome" remix. Of course I’m all up all over that song, complete with my usual call and responses...song:"I’m still talking and you’re not listening..." me: "WHAT?" And from there, he didn’t let up! He kept it electronically grimy, hard, and loud...and the floor began to load up with fellow Quixotees and newbies. It was just great! In the midst of this I see some of my familiar faces like The Death Twins (Gislana aka Lady Dead and her sister ’Jana, aka Death Angel), GI Jeff (the GI stands for General Immortus), La Boop (Shari)...oh, and your "fave" folks, the blonde chick and her friends that seem to have it out for Karen and The Adan. Don’t worry, they seemed to be cool tonight so no real need for you to come out and kick some butt...besides, Bouncer Joe had everything under control. Ron returns and keeps the music goin’ with some the less harder SureFires like "Military Fashion Show" and when he does that it usually means that The Lowers (the downstairs rooms) are opening soon. Sure enough, Pavlov (the dragon over the stairs) started winkin’ at me and I was on my way! I didn’t see you or your peoples yet but I figgered it’ll be later.

I was still very amped from the Ron/Sol Tag Team upstairs so I decided to keep the momentum goin’ passin’ The Crypt altogether and went strait for The Area (sorry, Q). Roxy, If I had any idea that it was gonna be less intense in here I was sadly mistaken. The 5witch (Jai) seemed to have the same mindset as John did and he was grindin’ out the tunes as hard as John did...if not harder! Once again, it was me, Josh and Mike on those tiles and for the next few minutes we pretty much owned them until more folks came on. I’m more than sure we left a few cracks behind after last night! Thru all of this I noticed this one pretty on the side just enjoyin’ the carnage but as it turned out, she was actually watchin’ me! (Stop it, Roxy...I know that look! It wasn’t like that!) She was sayin’ she enjoyed what I and the others were doin’ and after an exchange of names (her moniker was Moira) it was back on the floor again. I don’t what happened to me, Roxy, but at one point I wasn’t there...I mean, I was but I wasn’t, y’know? I was just lost in the beats that Jai was throwin’ out to the masses (especially when he tossed on Xotox’s "Ewig"!)...I love when that happens! By the time he was done, so was I...I needed to take a freakin’ break! I’m an old dude, y’know!

I get back upstairs and they were playin’ "our" song! "Put your hands up! Di-di-dit! Put your hands up! Di-di-dit!"....I see The Adan (who got his hair did with a new cut), Karen and...you with a new hairdo as well? As I got closer I saw it wasn’t you but a whole new lovely creature (not sayin’ that you and Karen ain’t, but you know what I mean). Of course Freddie showed them The Dance (I’ll bet you’re sorry for bringin’ this to his attention!) and I just got my sway on alongside them (a gentleman never breaks a circle of pretties unless invited. I didn’t know who this new pretty was but she and Karen had the fellas droolin’! One cat was tryin’ his damnedest to get next to them (from the back, of course) but your grrls knew the deal...they simply kept movin’ to where they couldn’t be approached from any angle. All they had to deal with was good ol’ Freddie! Ha! Your peoples are the smart, Roxy!

After steppin’ outside to get me a quick Orangeade and chatted with Josh and Jaimee (while soakin’ in the goodness of your lady friends takin’ a break by the tree from a distance...hey, I’m a guy, too, y’know!) I went back inside and enjoyed the last of Ron’s set. Jai gets back on for the last time and Roxy, let me tell ya: he went out as hard as he did downstairs! He really had the crowd wilin’ on Prodigy’s "Breathe"...if he said to go across the street and destroy the post office, we would have....he pretty much had us on lock! Then Ron got back on to take us home and I gave some floor time to my newest "friend", Moira...and yes, Roxy, I behaved myself! It was about that time for me to make myself ghost (leave) so I said my goodbyes, thanked everyone and left. It was safe to assume you were not gonna show!

Damn, Roxy, I really wished you came...you would’ve had so much fun! Just the same, your peoples repped for you lovely so at least you were there in spirit! In the meantime, just rest up (I heard about the fun you had with your other grrls) and I’ll see you the next time we cross paths at Home Away!
