At the request of some folks (Lady Blue, The BC) and suggestions from others (my son, The PATHers) I made my trek for a little bit of AG goodness. After givin' off daps to The 5witch, The Kaotic One and a friend of theirs it was onward to The Pyramid (felt a slight head rush when I was ushered in at the door..."Oh dayam...I'm a somebody now!"...but enough of that, back to earth). I heads on down and walks into a Stalag set in progress. Rather than just jump in face first I headed back up for a taste of the earlier works of the 80's and got my "Kommisar" on for a hot minute. Once the DJ threw on a song I was not too fond of (can't remember what it was...it was just bringin' the mental down) it was back down again and get to stompin' on the BlackReds. After a quick set of daps and hugs to The BC and AG's First Lady, er, Lady Blue, I took to the open real estate. I'm startin' to get a slight understandin' of how a Stalag set goes down. He seems to cover a gamut of styles within the music with a touch of experimentation sprinkled hither and dither. More often than not, it works. Keeps you on your toes, y'know?

Within 10 minutes of my solo outing I was joined by The PATHers. Kev took to the sides (he's the selective one of the two) while Bianca just gets right in there along with me. We're gettin' our StompSway on while three gothicly-garbed pretties (or was it two? I couldn't get a gender lock on one of 'em...sorry) played the poles. Soon there were these two other black pretties that came down and joined the festivities. I first thought that it was that Ailey-dancin' chick but a closer inspection proved otherwise (Blue said it was a friend of Mz Ailey). I was kinda diggin' on the spectacled one in the black dress, seein' she was more into the music than her friend (who played a low profile off and on). Then Sol gets on and picks up where The Stalag left off, in his own intimate style. Soon the floor has a slight crowd thing goin' on and me and Bianca was joined by Kev, EssoEss, The Kaotic One, The Advct and the five unknown pretties (or was it four?). Personally, I was gonna go all out on those BlackReds to either the point of exhaustion or pain (not to mention I was tryin' to catch that spectacled pretty's eye...I'm such a dawg sometimes).

Next at bat: DJ Luna, playin' the guest spot role. I was still kinda miffed that I missed his last set at Q's due to the drunken assery of some newbies, so I vowed to pay strict attention this time. The man did not disappoint! It was as crazy and aggressive as I thought it'd be, and I took it all in greedily! Big ups to Bianca who was right in step with me mostly the whole time...the grrl's a beast! We were even joined by none other than Mz DS, lookin' radiant as ever! One quick hug and she joined in on the small melee takin' place on the BlackReds.

Then it was time for a 5witch set, and he came out like Tony Montana's last stand! I was on the floor goin' "Oh sh-!" He took a cue from Luna's set and amped it up from there! He threw in some SureFires and coupled them with some unknowns that made the set just ridiculous! By now I was in my own little zone....you see nothin' or no one, ears strained to hear the tracks and relay the messages to the body...I likes that when I goes to that place! I had no idea of who I was dancin' with or next to, just go EAD on the floor. Any gaps I found in the real estate I took it...I think I even tried to phase thru the poles at one time! By the time he and Luna were done with me I was as good as yesterday's dishwater...and it wasn't a bad way to go!

Then there was a confusion of sorts. My BioClock was sayin' that it was time to eat, but with Daylight Savings Time I didn't know if it was actually 2 or 1 (damn you, Ben Franklin!). It went a little somethin' like this:

Me: Kev, what time is it?

Kev: It's 2 o'clock.

Me: But is it 2 now, or did the time go back yet?

Kev: That would make it 1.

Me:....so is it the real 2 'o'clock or is it 2 goin' back to 1?

Kev....huh?

Me:....um...nevermind...

After checkin' with a few patrons I found out it was indeed 1 am. Bein' my body was on 2 am BioClock-wise I decided to heed the stomach rumblings and head on up for a slice of Ray's (stoppin' long enough to meet Blue's friend Jamie[?], all the way from Leeds, England, no less). My dumb arse forgot that it's not summer anymore so I'm walkin' out into a chilly night with a very soaked Ecko shirt...the looks I got from the other Ray patrons were just priceless! No way I was gonna eat outside so I had to cop a squat inside the pizzeria to enjoy a (pizza) slice of heaven and a Pepsi. Mmm...you're killin' me Ray...you're seriously puttin' a hurt on me! Proper!

With more time to wil' out it was back inside for more musical goodness. I has to take it slow for now (full stomachs and intense dancin' do not mix) so I did some slight swayin' while I watched Lenny's peoples just take it to the floor on Stalag's second set. Just an awesome display of three-step riveting (and Bianca's still holdin' it down)! While I wanted to up my game up a bit the body was sendin' me warning signs to shut it down. At first I was goin' to, so I chilled in the DJ lounge and chatted with Luna and Mz Mildred while peepin' Sol's second set. Then, out of nowhere..."I AM...SINISTAR!" I was on the floor with the quickness! I can not let this joint get away from me scot-free! I was right out there with The Kaotic One and The OverTop, just losin' my damn mind! Peep my "internal dialogue":

Body: What are you doin'? Didn't you say you was gonna chill?

Mind and Heart: But this is "Sinistar"! We wanna dance to this!

Body: Well, you guys leave me no choice...legs, thighs...LOCK UP!

"I AM..SINIST-ARRGH!!"

That was it for me! Those 47 years came up with the quickness and I had to leave the BlackReds a broken man. Just as well, though...it was already goin' on the (new) 3 o'clock so after givin' out my last daps and hugs I left out with my fellow PATHers, tired and very sore.

Excellent signs of a good time had.

I'm still mentally confused by the whole time switch thing.
