Decided to take my monthly jaunt to NY early and hang out with my fellow Guilders. I gets in and pass off daps to The Stalag, my fellow PATHer Bianca and the Birf'day Boy of the moment, Andrew. Since it was still early I went upstairs to get warmed up a bit for tonight's festivities. The main floor was open as well, save for The Pyramidic One and a couple of peoples. I was tryin' to get into the stuff but I was feelin' like I was a step or two behind. It was great to get amped off of "Betty Davis Eyes" of all songs so that helped a little. A couple of songs after that and it was back downstairs to commence to attack the BlackReds.
I took to the floor and just delved into Stalag's set. It was great to hear a song I just happend to think about 'cause of Bianca, Wynardtage's "Embrace My Hate". I guess I owes The 5witch an apology...it wasn't him who played it last month. Soon I was joined by other folks and alongside Lady Zarda and her mans. Iwas pretty much in my own zone for a hot minute and before I knew it the floor picks up a notch with the arrival of the Pretty Grrls and their mens (Mz DS knows 'em).
It was when the next DJ got on that I realized two of The Guilders were missin'...I tried to get into what was bein' played (I think it was Progressive House?) but after 20 minutes I was now four steps behind. I couldn't muster up enough in me to keep the energy level I had when Stalag was on so rather than fake it anymore I just sat down and took a breather.
It was then I saw the two of the main Guilders walk in...Sol, Jai, and ...oh wow...The Shiny One. Okay, I think I'm ready to get up now. Within 20 minutes John was on the 1-2's and some SureFires were comin' out of the speakers. The floor filled up nice like and I was startin' to feel right again. I was joined by a few folks includin' Spaz, which I tried to keep in step with his Rivet stomp. It was a little tricky but once I got it it was a wrap! Blessed be The Sol, he drops "Headcase" and "Xfixiation" and I was gone now! It was just what I needed! I overdid it a bit so I took a another break and stepped out to get a drink.
I got back in just in time to pick up where I left off with Spaz, who was leadin' the Guilders lovely. After a quick follow woth him I took my much needed drink break on the side. While I'm sittin' down I got to chat a bit with The Shiny One, who showed me this awesome top she was wearin'...oh to the dayam....I was literally speechless. I could not stop starin' at her. I'm sorry, I just couldn't. Why, Jet Li, why must you torment me so! Much as I wanted to be her potna my "timing" wasn't right so I had to play the side and hate on the cat who was gettin' the Shiny Time (as well as the guy who was dancin' with The Pyramidic One, who had came downstiars)....grrr...after I calmed down I got back on the floor to jioin Spaz some more but the legs were slowly and surely lockin' up.
Sol tells me to hang out for a little while...he had three joints he wanted to play for me before I bounce. Two sounded familiar but the third he knew that I was gonna love it: the "Chrome" remix! I knew it was gonna hurt as bad as the time when The Dyzz played "I Am Sinistar" (when the legs cold locked up) but I cared not...my legs were talkin' but I wasn't listenin'! I just tore into those tiles like I just walked in the joint! When it was over, my 48 years came out hard and painful...it hurt just to think! It didn't matter, I got what I wanted! After a few quick massages I changed up, passed off daps and hugs and headed for the trains.
Lot of fun, this was! It had its slow moments but it was overall a pretty good time! Much thanx to The Guilders for allowin' me to enjoy the audio goods and whatnot. much love to Bianca, Lady Zadra and The Shiny One for comin' thru...I bow to you!
Welp, back to the grind...sees y'all in November!
