Decided to help celebrate AG's fortune by goin' to their two-year anny-versy. I was able to talk a couple of folks, Rob and Nancy, into goin'. They extended the gesture by givin' me a ride into New York...how effin' cool was that!
While Rob was tryin' to find a parking spot me and Nancy went on in. She said she'll wait at the door for her mans and told me to go on. I got downstair to get my daps and hugs on. Imagine my surprise to not only see Lady Blue but Queen Grace as well! I love these wimmen. I love these wimmen. Did I say how much I love these wimmen? From there I went to greet the rest of the Guilders and their peoples in the VIG Room (where I got to meet Mz Zadra officially) before headin' back upstairs to warm up. I heads to the main floor to warm up and sees a familar face: none other than the Skull Worshiper Himself (from AG'NY

holdin' court in the center of the floor. I took to the sides and got my sway/warm up for a few songs before headin' back down.
After seein' that Rob and Nancy were okay I tooks to the BlackReds like a lost friend alongside the likes of Zadra, Lady Blue and Lady 'Llyn (in a stunning floor-length dress, no less...all due respect to John). The Stalag was droppin' his usual brand of Obscurities (meanin' I didn't know 'em) but it didn't matter...I was startin' to get my feel of things. Then...KZZT! The bass speakers went out! All that was playin' was mids and trebles. Rather than stop altogether, I kept dancin' as ong as I could hear somethin' Quick scramblings by Sol and Jai and the music was back to its regular form within minutes. The floor filtered a little but it was all good and things resumed when it was Sol's turn. Had to keep a third eye on this chubby guy with glasses 'cause he was slightly wilin' out all over the floor doin' some egregious version of The Running Man...seriously) and any contact with him was like dancin' into a brick wall (I was even bouned off a couple of times).
Then The 5witch gets on and brings out the audio mayhem. Dropped a few SureFires on the masses and I was blessed with a Dreamgrrl Triad, courtesy of Blue and The Queen...effin' sigh, man...those two...they are...I...just....let's move on. At one point even John came out to join in the melee, which turned out to be a bad move: one second he was doin' his thing, the next he was down on the floor...hard. Oh no, the knee...He went to the sides to recoup and we kept it movin' (still worried about him, just the same).
Then it was time for the guest DJ Xris Smack, and the guy was havin' just the worst luck. See, he Apples his sets so he was havin' a hard time gettin' his laptop to work right within the Guild's hookup it was crazy conflicts. At one point he was in the Dead Zone for a good five minutes, with a crowd of folks on the floor goin', "Huh?" Eventually they got things back on point but the lull pretty much took a sizable chunk of good vibes out of everyone. I wasn't sure what happened next 'cause Stalag was right back on again doin’ his thing. I guess he was gonna try again on his next go-round. He dropped a few more familiar tunes for the peoples and everyone slowly got back into the swing of things. I took that time to chill out on a couch with Blue for a spell to converse on things about our lives before jumpin’ back into the fray. Then behind me I hear this loud thud and I see Chubby Guy flat on his butt! The hell? Apparently his Running Man was more than his feet could handle and he took a tumble as well. Jeez.
Then John comes out and drops a birf’day set for yours truly. He played a few of my faves like the Chrome remix, my X joint and surprise! “I Am Sinistar”! I really got into that cut, call and response wise (“What’s your effin’ name!” “I am...Sinistar!”)....just a great song (thanx beez to The Dyzz for intro’n that cut into my life)! He played some more SureFires and with assistance from Spaz, Blue, Zadra and Lady ‘Llyn I was just havin’ the time of my life from that point on. Eventually Xris got back on with no problems this time but the night was just about done for the most of us. The last ones standin’ was Chubby Guy and two other cats who were just as off as he was. I felt bad for laughin’ on the sides but I couldn’t help it...oooh, Karma’s gonna get me but good for that! Soon the night took its full toll on me and I was driftin’ off to sleep. Rob came and woke me up, sayin’ they were ready to leave. I changed shirts, said my goodbyes and headed on up. We were just about to walk out the door when Rob goes, “Hey, ain’t that Sisters Of Mercy?” Sure enough, on the main floor “Lucretia My Reflection” was playin’ and we all just went in there to get our last run off. I jumped on top of one of those square platforms (the better to impress The Pyramidic One with...she was on the floor) and we swayed away til it finished. From there we stopped to get some pizza (Ray’s still got it...scrum to the dilly) before headin’ back to Paterson.
Well, that was an interesting anny-versy shindig! Much love to The Guilders for gettin’ this far in The Game. It was great to participate in some of those runs and I look forward for more good times and adventures to come!
Here’s to Two More Years!
