Hey guys

So I’ve decided to be proactive, since I’m bored out of my mind at work. I’ve been picking up CDs to left and right lately and really burning through a lot of new underground noise, industrial and weird hybrid shit. Figured I’d give you all the low-down on what to check out thus far. If anything you can know the songs a little better to dance to them, and to request them cause lord know I ain’t psychic.

So, here we go.

http://www.myspace.com/individualtotem - Individual Totem - Some really ambient, and really danceable stuff here. They have an interesting mixture of really brutal drum beats and understandable lyrics and more flowing soundscapes. Check out WWW for sure.

http://www.myspace.com/twinkleaudiotrauma - Twinkle - This is a little different for me. It’s all instrumental with some French and some English samples throughout. The music is all very relaxed, with some interesting rhythms and sounds. Not the most danceable stuff, but there are some great songs. Check out the whole album: Le Jouet

http://www.myspace.com/100blumen- 100Blumen - This is all noise. Straight ahead noise. Some of it is ambient, some of it is crushing beats, but it’s all deep bass kicks and tense static snares. Check out the Nin Kuji remix of The Flower They Come.

http://www.myspace.com/16volt- 16Volt - This is one of my favorite bands. Their newest album, FullBlackHabit, features members of SMP, Cyanotic, Frontline Assembly and more. It’s been rated the best album of the year by a few of those rating magazines and, well, I think it is one of the best albums of 2007. Definitely listen to it all the way through. My recommendations are Cables and Wires, Suffering You, The Defect Peopleand Therapy. By far one of the best releases of last year.

http://www.myspace.com/cyanoticonline - Cyanotic - Also one of my favorite modern industrial bands. These guys bring a great mixture of metal, industrial, glitch and drum and bass. Transhuman 2.0 has some amazing danceable tracks, great melodic songs and a sense of rage and anti-establishment throughout. They have guys from 16Volt, Acumen Nation, SMP, Frontline Assembly and Rabbit Junk on this newest album. Check out Sensory Overload, Deface, Resurgence (just listen to those killer drums), and Paranoid Disbelief.

http://www.myspace.com/angelsonacid666 - Angels On Acid – Their newest CD, Eyes Behind The Curtain, is, to me, one of the best Terror EBM albums to come out in years (the only thing I own that holds a candle to it is Hocico’s Signos de Aberacion, but even that falls short). They incorporate, psytrance, funk, melodious synths, great samples and really striking kick drums to create a sound that is unique in this day and age. And their lead singer also sings. That’s right, like, in tune ‘n shit. Check out The Vile, This Present Darkness and Leviathan.

http://www.myspace.com/hansel- Hansel - This is not for everyone. This shit is weird. But, this shit is fucking genius. The sounds, the song structures (or lack thereof), the samples, everything together creates this feeling of discomfort mixed with a need to be accepted even though there’s no fucking way you will be. It’s brilliant, indescribable music. Check out Plancks Konstantand all of Respond_Violence.

http://www.myspace.com/mindfluxfuneral - Mindflux Funeral - More of that absolutely destructive industrial metal for the masses. These guys mix industrial, metal and glitch resulting in a sometimes dark and angry, sometimes melancholy and regretful sound. Heavy drums, blistering guitars and screeching synths will greet you inside Teatro de Revolucion. Check out tracks like Shutdown and Whore.

And finally

http://www.myspace.com/rabbitjunkband - Rabbit Junk - Also one of my favorite current bands. If you’ve been to AG you’ve heard them. This guy, JP, mixed industrial, hip hop, techno, drum and bass, straight up oi polloi punk and everything else under the sun into an angry, loud final product that makes you want to burn down the establishment and set some idiot on fire. They are coming out with a new CD in March and you can get both of their CDs for $20 including shipping. Buy this, and buy it now.

Also, look for comps. Currently http://www.telegrammetry.com/weatherhead.htm Weatherhead 3 is breaking my ear drums.

Let me know if you guys like this idea. Maybe I'll do it more regularly.

Enjoy!
