The coolest thing I like about this music stuff (in this genre, particularly) is that there are always moments where edumaction pops up where you least expect to get it. I'm in route to The Pyramid and I runs into Spaz while waitin' for the F. The small trip from the train to the club was just an awesome learning experience for me. I was buggin' on the fact that he also DJ'd at The Pyramid (all the time I saw him on the main floor I thought he was askin' for requests!) and has been DJ'n for a hot minute and change. He helped me further understand the differences in the styles I'm hearin' in layman's terms (Lenny: EBM; Wolfsheim: Synthpop...I think...), how he supports the UpComers like Sol and The 5witch and how important that gesture is to keep things movin', scene-wise...even gave me advice on what I need to do should I jump in the pool. An excellent 15 minutes of quality learnin', fer shure!

We gets in and part ways. There was no way I was gonna walk away from not dancin' to Gary Numan's "Cars"! I tossed my bag in a corner and went for delf, makin' sure I showed my "plumage" to that pretty I'm always yammerin' about (yes, folks, I like to show my arse. Chuilty as garged). With three tunes under my belt it was downstairs where I quickly disrobed and de-hatted to partake into some Sol audio gooeyness on the BlackReds. Man, if I didn't know any better I'd swear his set had some serious House flavor in it...I mean, I was really feelin' the thumps more than usual...I thought he was auditionin' for Brokers! In spite of my doctor's advice to chill with the dancin' I couldn't deny myself no more than I could stop breathin'...I just had to get on! Soon I was joined by JD and a couple of newbies and we went at it from there. Blessed be The Sol for endin' his run with my X song...oh dayam! I was pumped to no end!

Then it was time for the guest DJs to take the stand. The first one took it to the mat hard, audio-wise. I was lovin' the way he was layin' down the goods and then some! Pretty much every cut was dance worthy (speakin' for self, since I'll dance to almost anything) and JD...please give this man some daps...was right there alongside me holdin' it down for AG! His actions just spurred me on like it was crack! We took the BlackReds hostage and no matter who came on we refused to let it go until we felt like it!

The second DJ was all about one mission, and that was to drive that one bone-pasting tempo to shreds! Major props to him 'cause he played not one Cenotype joint but two! Woot! Can't hate on a guy lookin' out for my best interests! At one point he threw on this crazy gabber'd up cut...I thought it was gonna go the route of Snap's "I Got The Power" but the damn beat tripled-timed on me like whoa! I was joined by this small firecracker of a pretty who was holdin' it down lovely...she was goin' toe to toe with me, sometimes doublin' what I was puttin' out!

Then from the corner of my eye I saw the pretty that's been hauntin' my Pyramid dreams upstairs, watchin' me and the firecracker. This was the first time I've ever seen her down in an AG run so you know I really had to show my arse now, and with that I got crazy intense on the floor. Then the little pretty takes her leave, and The Pyramid Pretty takes her spot! Whoa! I couldn't believe it...I was actually dancin' with her! Talk about your Charlie Brown moment! I studied her movements and soon I was with her, step by step...mmm, proper! She left after two songs but that just about made my night! I tol'ja I was gonna dance with her one time! Um, yeah...whatever...I need to cool myself down after that so I copped a water from the bar and stepped outside to catch a breather, small talkin' with Sol and a bevy of beauties in the process before headin' back down. The second DJ was still drillin' that set lovely but rather than delve into it again I chilled on the side to save my energy for a Guilder that had yet to take to the 1-2's.

To end my night properly I was blessed with a searin' set from none other than The 5witch Himself. Not only the floor packed back up 'cause of the SureFires he was droppin', the crowd was expertly led to The Promised Land by Sol, JD and Spaz! We gave our all like them poor saps in "Logan's Run"...you were out for good but you were goin' out in style! I can almost hear the Blackreds wincin' from our onslaught...it was just crazy! By three I was a sweaty, dehydrated, hot mess...just the way I like it! I changed shirts, got coated and hatted, one last dance to "Tension" and I was Paterson-bound.

Cool freakin' beans, I had such a good time...even got some learnin' done in the process! Big ups to the fine, fine folks at AG for just makin' my Saturdays the cat's meow (sorry, I couldn't resist)! Props and acknowledgments to the guest DJs for doin' their thing on the stage...gave this old man a run for his money and then some! Much love to the pretties I got to dance with, particularly a certain Pyramidic One. You got the Brooklyn Grey tranked, no question! Spaz, thanx for everything. I truly appreciate the time you took to help me grasp the happenings of the scene. I will definitely be applyin' the lessons learned down the line from you and the others.

Let me get Old Man and take a nap! Seesya when I sees ya!

Oh, no question! We had them BlackReds warped as hell by the time you were done with us...any longer we'd be chippin' at the concrete underneath!
